Georgiana basketball update week 8

The Georgiana varsity boys and girls basketball team experienced multiple victories following their matchups the week of January 24.

On Monday, January 24, the varsity girls defeated JF Shields 61-50.

This game was originally scheduled to be played on January 14.

Lillie Boggan led the team with 19 points followed by Angel Haynes who scored 15 points.

Alexea Bess had a double-double consisting of 12 points and 19 rebounds.

Nyeashia Thomas also had a double-double which consisted of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Following the win, the girls improved their record to 11-6 for the season with a 6-0 record for area play.

On Tuesday, January 25, the varsity boys defeated McKenzie 72-46.

Amari Feagin led the team and had a double-double which consisted of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Josh Sims also had a double-double, consisting of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Following the win, the boys improved their record to 16-6 for the season with a 6-1 record for area play.

The varsity girls also defeated McKenzie with a final score of 59-20.

Angel Haynes led the team and had a double-double consisting of 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Following the win, the girls improved their record to 12-6 for the season with a 7-0 record for area play.

On Thursday, January 27, the varsity boys defeated Brantley 67-53.

Sims had a double-double consisting of 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Boggan also had a double-double consisting of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

With the win, the boys record improved to 17-6 for the season with a 7-1 record for area play.

The varsity girls defeated Brantley 59-40.

Boggan and Nyeashia Thomas had a double-double.

The girls now have a 13-6 record for the season with a 8-0 record for area play.
