The festive spirit of the holidays will be in full force at W.O. Parmer Elementary School during their second annual Holiday Bazaar set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 4.

Expect to see colorful Disney characters on the scene courtesy of Meredith’s Miracles, a non-profit organization that assists the families of sick children with non-medical expenses.

And, of course, there will be shopping galore.

“We’ve invited local and out-of-town vendors to join us for the day and share their handmade items and great gift ideas with shoppers,” said Krystal Thagard, who is co-organizer of the event with Ginger Norman.

Among those already set for booths at the event are Bow Divas boutique hairbows; Priester’s Pecans; Karen Rainey Interiors; Initial Outfitters; Christy Rush, monogrammed lunchboxes and handbags; Louella Parsons, handmade items; Betty Stowers, china and glassware; jewelry from Premiere; MeeMaw’s Crafts with Juanita Proveaux, hand-crafted purses, blankets, pillows and more; The Turtle Shell and Turtle Two of Prattville,  educational materials, toys and games, hair bows and children’s clothing, and Doug and Summer Brown, monogrammed plates and ornaments.

To keep the kiddies happily busy while the grownups shop, the bazaar will again offer Breakfast with Santa for children ages 3 and up, Thagard said.

“The children will get to eat with Santa, have their photo taken with him, and then our faculty members will assist them with activities at our Santa’s Workshop for an hour while their family members shop,” Thagard said.

Tickets for Breakfast with Santa are $10 and are available at the school and at Camellia Auto Parts at 607 Cedar Street in Greenville through Friday, Nov. 26.

“This event is lots of fun. You’ve got Santa, lots of great vendors and activities. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit,” said Thagard.

Booths are still available at a cost of $25. Monies raised by the event will go to worthwhile needs at the school, with hopes of adding to the school’s playground with this year’s holiday funds.
