BCCED receives $10,000 from Southeast Alabama Gas
The Butler County Commission for Economic Development recently received a significant gift from Southeast Alabama Gas.
During a presentation at the LBW Community College, Southeast Alabama Gas presented the commission with a $13,000 check.
Southeast Alabama Gas Vice-President of Eco-Development Wiley LoTt presented the check to BCCED Chair Evelyn Causey.
Besides attendees from the commission and Southeast Alabama Gas, Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon, the current chair of Southeast Alabama Gas, was also in attendance. In addition, McLendon serves on the Southeast Gas board of directors.
According to BCCED executive director David Hutchison, Southeast Alabama Gas has been an annual contributor to the commission’s budget.
“Southeast Alabama Gas is just one of the utilities to contribute on an annual basis to the budget,” he explained. “Pioneer Electric, along with city and county government, are also big contributors for us.”
“We certainly appreciate their financial efforts to help us retain and attract new companies to Butler County,” said Hutchison regarding the presentation.
