Biela wins first place in Home Run Derby
On May 1, children from across the state came together to participate in the twelfth annual Home Run Derby hosted by AUM Dixie Youth Baseball.
Advertised as not your traditional Home Run Derby, the event saw 120 kids participating in home run competitions for pre-minor, minor, and ozone players.
The Home Run Derby also saw the introduction of a Tee Ball Home Run Derby this year.
And during the Tee Ball Home Run Derby, six-year-old Greenville resident, Easton Maximus Biela, stood out among the rest.
Hitting home run after home run, Easton walked away from the competition with a shiny first-place trophy for his impressive display of skills.
“I like sliding and hitting nukes,” responded Biela when asked what his favorite thing about playing baseball was.
