Georgiana searching for first win versus Florala

After coming off a tough loss to Luverne, 55-26, Georgiana is hoping to get some season momentum going against Florala Friday night.
“Florala is kind of like us,” said head coach Shawn Gregory. “We are just trying to find that first wind and get some confidence.”
Like the Panthers, Florala lost its first game. Gregory said that makes them even more dangerous because – like Georgiana – they’re hungry for a win.
“They are a tough ball team,” Gregory said. “They’ve got a big old running back that we are going to have to stop to be successful.”
Georgiana touts a sophomore quarterback Devin Bonner, who is still getting his feet underneath him.
“We are still working on our pass offense,” Gregory said.
In the meantime, Georgiana will be relying on running backs like junior Keon Binion to keep their offense rolling. Binion had 62 yards against Luverne, including an 80-yard kickoff return.
“We are going to do what we can until all that stuff comes together,” Gregory said.
The Panthers will face Florala at home starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
