Hattie Bruner

Hattie Bruner, age 103, a resident of Fort Deposit, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in a Greenville nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22 from the chapel of Fort Deposit United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Carlson officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtlewood Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville directing. A visitation will be held at the church chapel from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Elsie Bruner of Fort Deposit; granddaughter, Helen Brooks (David) of Birmingham; great-granddaughter, Lauren Eads of Auburn. Mrs. Bruner was employed with Fort Deposit Bank for 35 years when she retired on December 31, 1972. She was also a member of the UMW, a member of Fort Deposit United Methodist Church where she also played piano for the church, men’s Sunday School class and children’s department.
No flowers will be accepted but in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ft. Deposit United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bruner was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Bruner Sr.; son, Oliver Bruner Jr., and daughters, Emma Jean Bruner and Helen Bruner.
