Leonard Kendrick

Leonard Gilbert Kendrick died suddenly on November 22, 2008. Mr. Kendrick was born on October 4, 1945 in Greenville.
He was an attorney in the Attorney General’s Office, was in private practice and worked the Alabama State Bar Association.
Gil was a great advocate for civil rights and spent much of his time in the service of others.
He was a founding member of the Friendly Supper Club and an active member of the Church of the Holy Comforter.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Austin, Kathryn and Allison; sister, Sondra Risley (Floyd) in Mt. Dora, Fla.; nephews, Scott Risley (Annette) in Korea and Shawn Risley (Shelley) in Sapphire, N.C.; a number of nieces and nephews, and his father-in-law, Charles A. (Tiger) Bell. Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Holy Comforter Church with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Comforter Outreach, 2911 Woodley Road, Montgomery 3611.
