James Sullivan

James Albert “Tiny” Sullivan Jr., 71, of Fairplay, S.C., and former longtime resident of Fort Deposit, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at his residence after a brief but valiant fight with cancer.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Lowndes County to the late Sidney Lamar and Eve Belle Sullivan. He was retired from the National Guard and was the member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville, S.C. where he served as an usher for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Guy Sullivan; sister, Margaret Janette Sullivan; granddaughter, Elizabeth Michelle Sullivan; a stillborn infant daughter; son-in-law, Richard Rodney Nicholas; one nephew and two nieces.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Croley Sullivan; children, Mary Jeanette (Jerry) Jones, James Albert “Buddy” (Ora) Sullivan Jr., Julie Nicholas, Jack Griffin (Denise) Sullivan, all of Greenville, James Kevin (Misty) Sullivan of Fairplay, Debbie Blakely of Jacksonville, Fla., David “Buck” (Michelle) Powell of Fairplay, Danny (Missy) Powell of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers Jack (Edwina) Sullivan of Fairhope, Roy Sullivan of Troy, sister-in-law, Marie Sullivan, and a large and loving extended family.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Oakdale Baptist Church in Townville, S.C. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Oakdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 6724 Highway 24, Townville SC 29689.
