Barnie Lowery

Barnie R. Lowery Sr., 82, a resident of Prattville, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville with Reverend Thomas Mayberry officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Lowery started work at Alabama Mills at age 16, and then went into the Army in the Corps of Engineers. After working successfully in the textile industry all over the southeast, he eventually came back to Greenville’s Dan River Mills as superintendent, and was later superintendent at Dan River`s Benton plant as well.
Survivors include, son, Barnie R. (Frances Gail) Lowery, Jr. of Clanton; daughters, Linda L. Moseley and Patricia L. Greene of Prattville; sister, Opal (Hayward) Killough, of Greenville; grandchildren, Leah Crawford of Greenville, Regina (Mark) Stevens of Alabaster, Haleigh (Lowery) of Clanton, Sean Lowery of Clanton, Felicia Wiles of Jacksonville, Melissa Moseley (Jeremy) Franklin of Roanoke, Donald (Betty) Greene of Prattville, Cristy (Mark) Andrews of Prattville; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
