William Lester Salter, 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Southern Memorial with Rev. Dan Morris and Rev. Rual Morris officiating.
Visitation began at 9 a.m. prior to the service.
Salter was born and raised in Georgiana and moved to Montgomery in 1957 to begin his career with Capitol Chevrolet and worked there until 2002. He was a member of Frazer Memorial UMC. He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Inez Salter, and a brother, Tom Salter. Survivors include his wife, Susan Salter; sons, Rusty (Ann Allen) Salter and Ronnie (Ann) Salter; daughter Lesli (Bryan) Carter; grandchildren, Will and Taylor Salter and Kaylee Salter and sisters, Bonnie (Rev. Rual) Morris and Betty (Bob) Branum. Pallbearers were Gerald Jones, Ronnie Sullivan, Billy Levins, Tom Raybon, Donny Hardin and Patrick Grier. Honorary pallbearers were Frank McGough Jr., Jim Bailey, Jack Fowler, Red Fowler, Tim Benefield and Jerry Danner.
