A Letohatchee man has been charged with the Sunday murder of Fort Deposit man as the result of the domestic dispute.
Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams confirmed Tuesday that Brandon Demonte Rudolph, 26, of Letohatchee, was arrested and charged with murder on May 27.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the case, identified the victim as Willie Earl Scott, age 34, of Fort Deposit.
Lowndes County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer said Scott was shot as the result of a domestic dispute.
She said the murder occurred on McCall Road in Hope Hull shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning and that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“He was shot with a small caliber weapon once in the chest area, once in the upper arm area,” Tesmer said.
A Lowndes County Jail official said Rudolph is out of jail on $100,000 bond.
