A McKenzie man has been arrested and indicted for five separate charges of sexual offenses, according to Butler County Sheriff Diane Harris.
BCSO officers arrested Earl Wayne Whiddon, 69, at his McKenzie residence on Sept. 8.
"We received information implicating Whiddon for sexual abuse in the first degree," said Harris. "Upon investigation, we obtained a search warrant for Whiddon's residence. Upon execution of the search warrant, further material evidence was discovered that further implicated Whiddon on the original felony charge of sexual abuse in the first degree."
The case was presented to the Grand Jury last week, said Harris.
"They (grand jury) returned an indictment for the original charge of sexual abuse in the first degree, and based on testimony of witnesses, they also handed down indictments for four counts of sodomy in the first degree," said Harris. "And Whiddon was arrested on the five warrants issued by the Butler County Circuit Court as a result of the Grand Jury, and was released Monday afternoon on $100,000 bond."
