If the Greenville Tigers didn't know what hit them Friday night after the game against the visiting Calhoun Tigers, than Coach Jai Hill had their answer for them, "They hit themselves!"
"When there was only two minutes left in the game, we were up by five points," said Coach Hill. "Mental mistakes cost us the game."
Hill cited some examples of the mistakes. "Carlos Blackmon got called for a technical foul-for kicking the ball.
"Also, Tyrone Davison refused to play defense in the last minute (of the game) after he forgot what he was supposed to do on offense."
Coach Hill concluded by summarizing the ending of the game. "We should have won. We lost our cool!"
Topping the score chart was Sam Williamson with 21 points, followed by Blackmon with 12, and Davison with 11.
The top scorers for Calhoun were Donell Martin with 16 points and Marcus Miles tied with Norris Davison at 10 points each.
Greenville will be on the road Jan.4, when they travel to Evergreen to face Hillcrest High School.
