Shrimp and corn. Potatoes and sausage. White beans and jambalaya.

It’s time again for one of the Camellia City’s most enjoyable community events. The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Low Country Boil next Thursday, Nov. 5 at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

This year’s gathering promises good times and “all the fixin’s,” according to chamber director Francine Wasden.

Both the food and fun get started when the gates open at 6 p.m. with sausage appetizers served by Monroe Sausage of Beatrice.

The traditional boil will again be catered by Kevin Ordoyne and there will be plenty of drinks to wash it all down thanks to Horn Beverages.

Johnny Barron and the Waterfall Band will do their best to inspire some dancing, drawing from an extensive repertoire of R&B, pop, soft rock, Motown and country music.

The Greenville Area Jaycees will make a special presentation of their annual John D. Murphy Citizen of the Year Award.

Networking opportunities and the chance to visit with friends and neighbors have always been the highlight of the event, which is open to both chamber members and non-members. You must be 21 years old to attend.
