The Greenville Tiny Mites won two games in the playoffs last Saturday on the way to a West Division Championship.
The first game was a 40-6 victory over the Georgiana Panthers.
In that game, Javion Posey scored three touchdowns, while Bishop Riley and Padro Davidson Jr. added one touchdown each.
Georgiana’s only score came from LaDerrick Haynes, who ran for 71 yards.
The loss to Greenville ended Georgiana’s season.
“It’s been a learning season for us,” said coach Carnell Littles. “We went 4-3, and we had a lot of new players. I’m proud of everyone for sticking it out.”
In the second game Saturday, the Greenville Tigers defeated the Evergreen Jaguars 25-0.
Posey scored two touchdowns and Riley also crossed the goalline.
The Tiger defense was stout all day, and Nyzarius Stone led the team in tackles.
The Tigers will play for a Super Bowl Championship this Saturday in Andalusia.
“Hopefully the baby Tigers can follow in the high school’s footsteps,” said coach Jason Posey.
