Bulldogs bite Tigers, 86-58

The McKenzie Tigers were on the road Friday night, to play against the Brantley Bulldogs, and after four hard-fought periods, went home to Butler County defeated, 86-58.
It was the Bulldogs taking the lead in the first period over the Tigers, with 19 points to the 11 of MHS.
The second period saw the Tigers attempt a run for the lead, and although they scored 15 points to 11 for Brantley, the score at the half still had the Dogs in the lead, 30-26.
Brantley Coach Tony Stallworth must have done some heavy-duty motivating in the lockers during the break, because in the third period, the Dogs outscored the Cats, two-fold, adding 29 points to the 16 of McKenzie, for a three period score of 59-42.
The fourth and final period also saw the Dogs on top, notching 26 more points to 17 additional points by the Tigers, and the final score was Brantley Bulldogs 86, McKenzie Tigers 58.
Leading scorer for the Tigers was Lawrence Ball with 14 points, followed by Russell Davison with 13, including one three-pointer, and Jamie Peterson with 10.
For Brantley it was Terrell Burnett leading the board with 26 points, including four long-distance hoops for three points each.
Antonio Turner was second with 16 points, followed by Devin Person with 13. Person's scoring came from all three pointers, except for one free throw.
On Tigers defense, Rickie Sallie led with six rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Next it was Russell Davison with seven rebounds and three steals; then it was Lawrence Ball with seven rebounds and Jamie Peterson with four rebounds and two assists.
