Fort Dale varsity wins area title

The Fort Dale varsity basketball team clenched the area championship Friday night at Meadowview Academy as they defeated the Morgan Academy Senators 55-39.
Fort Dale has faced Morgan for the area championship four times in the past six years for the area championship and FDA has won the championship three out of those four times.
Brett Paulk was named tourney MVP and had 14 points toward the big win.
Andrew Hollis was leading scorer in the game as he had 16 points for the Eagles and Miles Hulick contributed 14 points.
Andrew Hollis and David Johnson were both named to the All-Area Tournament Team and the Eagles now have an outstanding 20-4 record for the season.
The Eagles will face Lee-Scott Academy Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Faulkner University in Montgomery. The Lee-Scott Warriors are coached by former Fort Dale Eagles' assistant coach Steven Kilcrease.
The Lady Eagles were defeated by the Morgan Lady Senators 47-29 and were led in scoring by Laura Skipper who had 15 points for the effort. The Ladies will face the Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots of Troy at Faulkner Friday morning at 10:30.
