Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon signed a special proclamation on Monday morning at City Hall, recognizing Nov. 20-26 as National Farm-City Week.
The special week is set aside to recognize American farmers and ranchers who help feed the world and work with urban and suburban communities to supply, sell, deliver finished products across the country and around the globe.
“As we welcome new opportunities for trade, the hard work and successful cooperation between farmers and city workers will continue to play a a vital role in our nation’s future,” said McLendon.
The proclamation called the farm-city partnership a “fitting blessing” to celebrate based on the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
