All head coach Jacqueline Tate could do in the last seconds of the Lady Tigers’ game was pray.

Greenville High School pulled out a tight victory in the last seconds of the game beating Calhoun High School 37-35.

“Overall, I’m excited about the win,” Tate said. “Even tonight they had moments to slip back into old moments, but overall, I’m proud of them.”

Greenville held a lead the entire game, but Calhoun was always within striking distance.

However, it was Jasmine Morris’ push in the fourth period to put Greenville over the edge by scoring 10 of the Lady Tigers’ 12 points in the period.

It was a fight to the finish line in the last seconds of the game as each team rallied back and forth scoring points with Greenville landing on top.

“First of all, when we came in from halftime, I said we need to come out third period and from the jump we need to control,” Tate said. “I said the team that wins the third period is going to win this game and that’s what we did. We won that third period, and we got the victory.”

Morris led Greenville to victory with 22 points. Shakieronnya Rudolph added four and Kadeshia Cook chipped in six in the win.
