Frank Hickman has announced his intent to seek re-election for the Butler County Commission.
Hickman, who will be running as a Democrat, is seeking the District 3 seat.
Hickman is a lifelong resident of Butler County and has practiced law for the past 35 years at the firm of Hartley & Hickman. In addition to his law degree, Hickman also has an accounting degree from the University of Alabama.
“Service on the Commission has provided me an opportunity to use my training, skills and experience to work with other people to improve the quality of life for all citizens and the future of Butler County,” Hickman said. “I want to keep working for the people of Butler County.”
Hickman said although there has been improvement during the last four years, a lot of work remains.
“We need to continue to find ways to increase funding for our roads, our Sheriff’s Office and our Volunteer Fire Departments,” Hickman said. “We must continue to work to recruit industry and find jobs for our citizens. Working together, we can make Butler County better.”
Hickman is active in civic and community affairs and is an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville.
He is married to Rebecca Bozeman of Evergreen, Ala., and has two children, Walton and McLean and three grandchildren.
