Mark David Seymour will be at the Greenville-Butler County Public Library Saturday, July 17, at 10 a.m. This is the finale to the summer reading program "Step to the Beat - Read!" All ages are invited and the program is free.

The Welcome Baptist Church will hold homecoming services July 17. Special music will begin at 10:30 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Lunch and fellowship will follow.

The descendents of Milessy Bennett, Anthony Bennett and Mattie Thornton will hold a family reunion, July 16 through 18. Major events will take place at the Mount Zion schoolhouse and the Mount Zion Church fellowship hall.

July 18

Mount Pisgah Baptist Church will hold homecoming services Sunday, July 18. Services start at 11 a.m. with a covered dish lunch served after. Revival services will be held July 19 to 21 beginning at 7 p.m. each night. Guest Preacher will be Bro. Mike Green of Luverne.

Vacation Bible School at Fort Deposit Church of Christ will be held July 18-21. This year's theme will be &uot;Treasures in Time&uot;. Services will be Sunday to Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

There will be classes for all ages, including adults.

A gospel meeting will be held at the County Line Church of Christ July 18 to 21. Sunday Bible study begins at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. and a luncheon held at noon. Nightly services will be at 7:30 p.m.

Forest Home Methodist Church will have homecoming services July 18 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Butler as the guest speaker. Lunch will follow the services. Revival services will be held Monday, July 19, to Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Bill Butler will also be the guest speaker each night. Special music is planned.

July 19

Buckaloo Pentacostal Holiness Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 19 to 23 from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Classes are for age 2 to teen. Everyone is invited.

The Alabama High School Graduation Exam will be administered at each of the three high schools beginning at 8 a.m. July 19 through 23. The scheduled days for the summer 2004 administration are Social Studies on Monday, Science on Tuesday, Mathematics on Wednesday, Reading on Thursday and Language on Friday. The High School Basic Skills Exit Exam will also be administered July 21 through 23.

Union Baptist Church in Honoraville will hold Vacation Bible School July 19 through 23 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Classes will be provided each night for nursery-age children to adults. The study will be "Construction in the Name of Christ."

July 23

Applicants for the Grassland Reserve Program received through July 23 will be considered during the first funding period. Preservation of native grasses is n objective of this program. For more information, contact the Natural Resources Conservation Service at 382-8538.

July 24

Bethel Baptist Church on the McKenzie Grade Road will have Vacation Bible School, on Saturday, July 24, from 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

All children from age 3 to the 6 grade are invited to attend.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

July 25

Mount Olive West Baptist Church will hold its annual homecoming service Sunday, July 25. Worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Terry Heartsill presiding. Lunch and fellowship will follow.

The Schofield Family Reunion will be held Sunday, July 25, at the Sherling Lake lake house from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to baring a covered dish.

Union Baptist Church in Honoraville will observe homecoming services Sunday, July 25. Revival services will be held July 26 through 30 with Bro Burney Enzor bringing the message at 7:30 p.m. Special music will

be provided.

July 29

The admission and allocations meeting will be held Thursday, July 29, at 6 p.m. at Greenville City Hall. Anyone wanting to apply for funds must attend this meeting.

August 2

Pleasant Hill West Baptist Church will hold revival services Aug. 2 through 4 at 7 p.m. Monday night will feature Bro. Larry Gaston with music by the Brooks Baptist Church Choir. Tuesday will feature Bro Terry Heartsill with music by Jerry and Marie Brazwell. Wednesday night will have Bro John Knight with Don Faulk of Monroeville singing.

August 14

Reid State Technical College will host a gospel music night Saturday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m. Featured artists will be the Good News Quartet, Dyess Family and Robert Williamson.

August 15

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Georgiana will celebrate its 116th homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 15. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Henry Lyon III, retired from the State Board of Missions, will bring the message. Lunch will follow in the fellowship hall. There will be no Sunday school or evening services.

Senior citizens, 60 years and older, may still receive a Farmers Market Coupon Booklet by application at the Nutrition Centers: Greenville Center, 903 Cedar Street; Georgiana Center, 306 N. Palmer Avenue, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday, until all booklets are issued. (There are household income limits that apply.) The child care program at Greenville High School in the Career Tech Department is accepting applicants for the 2004-05 year. Three and four-year-olds are welcomed. Academics, play and social skills are stressed as children are taught lessons based on a different theme each week. Two meals and a snack are provided each day.
