MOUNT, Mr. John Daniel, 81, a resident of Brantley died suddenly Friday December 23, 2011.

Funeral services were held at 10 am Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Powell and Rev. Mike Green officiating.

Interment  followed in Brantley Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Mount was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emma Everage Mount and a brother, Rev. David Mount.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ruthie Lee Gaines Mount; three children, Prof. Theresa Mount (Buddy) Johnson, Dr. Danny C. (Cricket) Mount and Dr. Gary D. (Fatima) Mount; eight grandchildren, Dr. Jason W. (Jennifer) Johnson, Troy A. (Brittany) Johnson, Lindsay M. Johnson, Jonathan C. (Brittney) Mount, Caitlin A. Mount, Zackary D. Mount, Nickolas C. Mount, and Gabryella Maria Mount; two great grandchildren, Elijah and Ellis Johnson; and three sisters, Mary (Hayward) McLeod, Juanita Colquett and Betty Dickey.

Active pallbearers were Karl Eiland, Tommy Colquett, Timmy Dickey, Don McLeod, Bob Gaines, and Nick Gaines. Kenneth Mount served as an honorary pallbearer.
