The Luverne High School Class of 1954 gathered on July 17 in celebration of their 50th class reunion. After meeting at Luverne High School for a memory-filled tour, the classmates then assembled at the Chicken Shack banquet room for further festivities. Approximately 24 classmates and 20 spouses/friends attended the reunion.
After being welcomed back to Luverne by Mayor Joe Rex Sport, each classmate stood and gave a short speech about themselves. Then Mrs. Lillellen Hicks Wise gave a presentation honoring the deceased classmates. Reba Lane King Paludan was giftorian for different classmate categories such as least changed, traveled the farthest, etc.
Under the guidance of Mrs. Jewel Moore Killough, the party room was beautifully decorated in the school's colors of red and white.
The music for the occasion was performed by Edgar Stewart's Combo, a classmate, and was enjoyed throughout the evening by everyone. At the end of the evening, Edgar presented each classmate with a CD of the 40s, 50s and 60s music, which he had performed.
