The Fort Dale Eagles came into Friday's game riding a three-game win streak.

Friday night, the win streak was stopped by a red, brick wall.

Fort Dale traveled to Faith to try to unseed one of the top teams in AAA. Their efforts were in vain as the Rams posted a 28-10 victory.

"We played hard against Faith they probably were a little better than us last Friday night," said James Sampley, coach of the Eagles. "We had some bad things that happened to us that we didn't overcome very well. But we moved the ball and I think when it was all said and done we were equal in offensive production. But they scored and we didn't. And you've got to finish drives. You've got to stop getting holding penalties, quit getting offside penalties and things that are killing us right now."

This week, the Eagles look to relieve some of the frustration against Cottage Hill.

Friday's game is a change for the Eagles. Twice this season they have been someone's homecoming date.

Lee-Scott was the first team to have Fort Dale as a homecoming opponent. Faith was the other.

Cottage Hill is going to be Fort Dale's homecoming date this weekend.

"They have a team that hasn't won very many games, but they have some really good athletes," Sampley said. "They run a spread offense the whole time and they scare you a little bit doing that. They run a 3-5 defense and blitz all the time like we do. Homecoming here is pretty busy all week long and we've got to not lose focus and be ready to play."

Despite the loss to Faith last week, a win against Cottage Hill will put Fort Dale in the playoffs.

They have four games left on their schedule. Friday night they play host to Cottage Hill. The next week they are home again next week against Morgan Academy.

The Eagles would have ended their season that following week with a match-up against Patrician, but due to Hurricane Ivan, an extra week was tacked on. The Eagles now end their season with a road trip to Mobile Christian.

"If we beat Cottage Hill that would put us in the playoffs," Sampley said. "The rest of the season will determine our seeding. We still have to play three really good teams in Morgan Patrician and Mobile Christian. Patrician's a AA school and doesn't count toward the playoff system. Morgan and Mobile have only lost two games between them."

With rain moving into the area, some coaches have changed their routine. Not the Fort Dale Eagles.

"We are going to get out here and get after pretty good at practice, we hope," Sampley said. "All this rain and people worrying about what we are going to do, we don't care about it. We're going to practice. You play in the rain so you should practice in it."

The Eagles did change one thing up on Monday, however. They watched film before they went out to practice field.
