The Crenshaw Christian girls’ basketball team traveled to Eufaula over the holidays to play in the Lakeside Tournament and came away with a fourth-place finish.
In the first round, the Cougars defeated Westwood 50-48.
Candice Dunn led the team with 25 points while Kelly Sasser added nine points.
However, CCA fell to Glenwood 28-19 in the second game of the tournament.
Head coach Tyler Hill said he has high expectations for his team in the second half of the season.
“My expectations are to make it to the Elite Eight in the playoffs,” he said. “Right now we’re in fourth place in the region, which is pretty strong. We’ve got three of the top teams in the state in our region, which is going to make it tough on us.”
The Lady Cougars are 6-8 overall, with a 3-3 record in the region.
