Relay for Life Yard Sale

ACS will hold a yard sale with all money going to Relay for Life on Saturday, April 2. The yard sale will be held in the parking lot of Annie's-Kate's Kountry Inc.

Spring Garden Festival

The Brantley Garden Clubl's 3rd Annual Spring Garden Festival will be held on Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Brantley School. Admission is free to everyone. Exhibits will consist of flowers, bedding plants, crafts, food, garden items and much, much more.

Children's ID Program

Woodmen of the World will sponsor a children's DNA and fingerprint identification program at the Spring Garden Festival in Brantley. Parents will receive fingerprints and a DNA sample of their children. The program is a free but a parental release will be required for each child. Woodmen of the World gladly provides this community service program at the festival which will be held on the Brantley school grounds. Mayor's Prayer Breakfast

The Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast will be held on Monday, April 4, at the Harrison Cultural Center in Luverne, from 7 a.m. till 7:45 a.m.

Not only are the mayors of Crenshaw County requested to attend, but every citizen is welcome to come pray for our cities and county.

A light breakfast is served.

An area pastor will give a brief devotional followed by spontaneous prayers from the participants.

Plant & Bake Sale

Luverne Garden Club's annual plant and bake sale will be held April 9 at the Mitchell Multi-Purpose Center in Luverne from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Church Homecoming

Live Oak United Methodist Church will hold its annual homecoming on Sunday, April 10. Morning service starts at 11 a.m. with Dr. Tim Thompson as guest speaker. Lunch will be served at noon with a cemetery meeting following at 1:30 p.m. The church asks that you please bring a covered dish for the lunch service.

Day Trip

A trip is scheduled for April 12 to see the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit in Mobile. The cost of the ticket is $16 which includes a hour-and-half tour plus movie,"The Mysteries of Egypt," at the IMAX Theatre. Lunch cost is $15 at Wintzell's Oyster House (choice of nine entrees), which includes beverage, dessert and tax. The cost for the bus will be announced later. Church Revival

Chapel Hill Church will hold an annual spring revival, April 13, 14, 15th at 7:30 p.m.

Rev. Donnie Burns from Luverne Baptist Church will be the featured speaker.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Family Reunion

The 15th Annual Abe and Mary (Samson) Thomas family annual reunion will be held on April 16 at Salem Church of Christ. The reunion will start at 11 a.m. with a pot luck meal scheduled for noon. Be sure to invite your family and friends and please bring family information updates.

Job Skills Training

Alabama's Focused Industry Training, or FIT, is a free 10-week program that provides training in basic education, computer skills, workplace behavior and problem solving, introduction to the manufacturing environment, how to apply and interview for a job, and more. FIT graduates will earn certification as an 'Alabama Certified Worker,' which confirms they have the skills and abilities required by most employers. Graduates will also receive a job placement assistance. FIT classes will be held in downtown Luverne, April 18 through June, 27. Cancer Survivor Dinner

The annual dinner honoring cancer survivors will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at the Tom Hardin Farm Center on Airport Road. Festival at the Well

The 12th Annual Festival at the Well is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 in Glenwood. Live stage entertainment throughout the day will include a children's beauty pageant, as well as local Country, Gospel, Bluegrass and dance entertainers from throughout the surrounding counties. The Flowing Well grounds will be filled with arts and crafts booths, food booths and games for the kids. The Glenwood VFD will cater smoked BBQ and door prizes will be awarded to those present. Relay for Life Fundraiser

Luverne United Methodist Church is selling t-shirts to help raise money for Relay for Life. Any church member may be contacted.

Relay for Life Fundraiser

The Crenshaw Community Hospital is selling carnations for $5 each to be given to the nursing home and assisted living residents with half the proceeds going to the hospital's Relay for Life fund. The hospital is also selling chances on a vine/apple wreath at $1 per chance or six for $5. For a $10 donation, the hospital is offering shoulder and upper back massages. Food Program Offered

The Aging and Disabled Services, Inc. announces the sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program in Crenshaw County.

Meals will be made available at no separate charge to enrolled participants at the Crenshaw County Adult Dare Care, located at 4122 Quail Tower Road in Luverne. For more information on the program contact Tommy Tomlin at 335-5522.
