Greenville, Crestview face off in Super Bowl

At the start of the 2011 campaign, Jason Posey, head coach of the Greenville YMCA termite team, challenged his squad to finish the season unbeaten.
His team did him one better.
Greenville not only posted a perfect 7-0 record, the team didn’t yield a single point en route to its undefeated season.
“Finishing undefeated was our goal from the start,” Posey said. “I felt like we had a chance to do that, but I never thought we’d go the whole season without giving up a point. That’s almost unbelievable, but all the hard work the kids put in during practice paid off.”
Nov. 4, Greenville will host Crestview (Fla.) in the Tri-County Football League Super Bowl at the YMCA of Greenville.
Posey said his team is eager to hit the field and attempt to cap its season with a Super Bowl crown.
“They’re hungry,” the coach said. “We’ve been talking about the game all week and these guys are ready to get out there and play. We feel real confident and believe we have a good chance at winning it. It should be an exciting game.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Prior to Greenville’s game, the Tiny Mite Super Bowl between Andalusia and East Brewton will be played. Kickoff for that contest is slated for 11 a.m. The Pee-Wee Super Bowl, also a matchup between Andalusia and East Brewton, will be played at 2 p.m.
Admission to the games is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
