GMS dominates Wetumpka

Greenville Middle School scored a dominating 44-0 win against Wetumpka Thursday night in Wetumpka.
“We finally played a complete football game,” Greenville head coach Daniel Ingram said. “We have played some good football this year, but not for four quarters. We did that (against Wetumpka).”
The Tigers scored on runs of 38, 2, 90, 6 and 12 yards and also returned an interception 35 yards for a score.
Barrett Bush scored from 38 yards out to get the Tigers on the scoreboard. Dequarious Peterson added the two-point conversion to boost the lead to 8-0.
Greenville was able to extend its lead when Marlon Davidson returned an interception for a touchdown. Skylar Moore added the two-point conversion and Greenville led 16-0.
Moore later scored on a 2-yard run to extend the lead to 22-0. A 90-yard run by Peterson, a 6-yard run by Deangelo Anderson and a 12-yard run by Kendarious McCoy capped the scoring for Greenville. Bush and Brandon Simmons added two-point conversions for the Tigers.
“I am very proud of all our players,” Ingram said. “The younger guys came in a were able to hang on to the shutout.
“This was a big game for us going into next week. We will be playing a very good Troy team.”
Greenville will be back in action Thursday when it host Charles Henderson Middle School.
Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
