Allin Whittle has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Operations for the Butler County BOE since 2000. A graduate of Alabama A&M University in Huntsville (Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science) and Auburn University in Montgomery (Masters in Administration and Ed. S in Administration), Whittle has been working in the local system since 1985.

Prior to that, he taught agribusiness for two years at Bibb County High School in Centreville.

Whittle was Agribusiness instructor from 1985-87 at Greenville High School, assistant principal at GHS for 1987-1988, and principal at W.O. Parmer Elementary and Greenville Elementary Schools from 1988 to 2000.

His years of experience in the local system as a teacher and administrator have given him an in-depth knowledge of the needs of Butler County’s public schools, Whittle says.

“I feel that I know this system well. I know its state requirements, No Child Left Behind requirements on a federal level, and I want this same knowledge to be built into every individual in the system,” Whittle said.

“I want every task to be done well and done thoroughly so it doesn’t need to be repeated.”

Since his days as a teacher’s aide, Whittle says he has obtained valuable hands-on experience and know-how in every area of the system, right down to driving a school bus if needed.

“Butler County has the ability to accomplish a lot in its schools, but we must get all the stakeholders in agreement and working together to keep going forward . . . familiar people with new, fresh ideas will be able to bring about a great change in Butler County schools,” Whittle said.
