Officers respond to report of gun shots

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible murder that took place on a rural road outside of Greenville early Friday evening. Reports indicate officers were called to the scene after gunshots were heard by residents nearby. Deputies discovered the body of a man and took one woman into custody.

The names of both the victim and suspect have not been released by the BCSO.
