The statewide candidates for the Republican Party are coming to visit the residents of Crenshaw County next Wednesday, Sept 24, as they make their way across the state. The candidates are visiting each county and giving voters a chance to “meet and greet” those on the Republican Party ticket in the state races.
The candidates will first stop in Luverne at the Crenshaw County Courthouse at 8 a.m.
Biscuits and coffee will be on hand.
The candidates will then stop in Brantley at 9 a.m. at the Brantley Town Hall.
Those on the tour, which lasts from Sept. 22 through Oct. 22, include Judge Bill Thompson, Court of Civil Appeals; Judge Greg Shaw, who is running for the Alabama Supreme Court; Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh, the former Republican Party chairman who is now running for chairman of the Public Service Commission against Democrat Lucy Baxley; Beth Kellum, candidate for Court of Criminal Appeals Place One; and Mary Windom, candidate for Court of Criminal Appeals Place Two.
Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Terry Butts, a native of Crenshaw County, will be riding with them.
The Crenshaw County Republican Committee is sponsoring this event, along with each of the candidates. Everyone is encouraged to come out and attend. For more information, contact Suze Butts, Alabama Executive Committee member for Crenshaw County, at 334-429-1216.
