McKenzie, Georgiana prepare for homcoming festivities this weekend

Both McKenzie and Georgiana will be celebrating Homecoming this weekend.
At McKenzie School, a full afternoon of activities will precede the evening’s game.
At 1 p.m. Oct. 24, an assembly is planned in the MHS Auditorium; the public is invited. All graduates will be recognized with special honors given to the grads of 1978, ’88 and ’98.
A 1:30 p.m. pep rally is set for the gym, followed by a parade at 2:15 p.m. Senior recognition is slated for 6:30 p.m. at the football field. The game against Providence Christian kicks off at 7 p.m. with the presentation of Queen and Court at halftime.
Georgiana High School students will be able to sport their Homecoming T-shirts and khaki pants on Friday with time set aside to work on floats, hold a talent show and pep rally.
The annual parade is set for 2:30 p.m., with line up at 2 p.m.
During pre-game festivities at 6:30 p.m., the Homecoming Queen and Court will be presented. Kickoff against J. F. Shields is 7 p.m., with a homecoming dance to follow the game. - Staff Reports
