Operation Christmas Child here

Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter because a church in Butler County desperately needs help. I am deeply concerned for Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Once again, it looks like they bit off more than they can chew by accepting a challenge from my church, to see who can do the most shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
The loser of this challenge has to have a cookout for the winning church. Hats off, by the way, to Spring Creek for the great cookout last year, but I digress.
So, back to the issue at hand. I am thinking of some kind of handicap for them. We tried to take on a church our own size, but it is just like taking candy from a baby. So to make things fair I am encouraging the people of Butler County to help them a little bit in the form of a shoebox. They need all the help they can get.
We at Damascus Baptist Church love a good horse and buggy race, but last year their nag just got them to the finish line. So if you are looking for a way to help them, please make a donation to their cause. The collection week is November 17-22.
You need to have the boxes in before then, because if they lose they get to keep the turkey trophy another year.

In good fun and competition.
