Mr. William Eugene “Gene” Taylor, age 70, of Brantley passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 in a Montgomery hospital.

Funeral services will  be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at Dozier Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Walter Brewer will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Keahey Funeral Home in Andalusia.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Williams of Brantley; three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Carla Taylor of Missouri, William and Donna Taylor of Missouri, Robert Taylor of Brantley; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Eric Compton of Brantley; brother, Donald Taylor of Opp; two sisters and brother-in-law, Cathleen and Lawrence Chandler of Dozier, Lottie Walker of Dozier; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Merle Clark, parents, Emma and Lewis Taylor.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Shirley, Wade Ballard, Greg Walker, Eric Compton, Michael Walker, Bobby Brooks.
