City amends ambulance fee schedule

The City of Greenville amended its code of ordinances to change the fire department’s ambulance fees.
“This is the first update of any kind since 2001” said Greenville Fire Chief Mike Phillips. “This updates us where we need to be in line with what Medicare pays.”
The fee schedule, as approved, is:
Basic Life Support, $450; Basic Life Support Emergency, $500; Advanced Life Support Level I, $450; Advanced Life Support Level I Emergency, $600; Advanced Life Support Level II, $850; Specialty Care Transport, $1,000; Ground Mileage Per Mile, $15.
The city clerk’s office is responsible for collecting fees.
In other business the city:
– Mayor Dexter McLendon said he is currently awaiting a packet from Congressman Bobby Bright (R-Montgomery) detailing what the 2nd Congressional District will be receiving in the economic stimulus package.
– Approved a resolution authorizing the city to serve as administrative sponsor in fiscal year 2009 for the summer food service program for children.
– Approved the following expenditures: Consolidated fleet services in the amount of $1,306.50 for the fire department’s annual NFPA Inspections and Certification; $1,193.68 to Sunbelt Fire for annual testing and certification for 16 self-contained breathing apparatus.
