Obituary – Elizabeth Edison Stuart

Ms. Elizabeth Edison Stuart, age 95, of Evergreen, died on Friday, Sept. 20, at Evergreen Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, beginning at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Bravo officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing. 

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Percy Stuart; parents, Napoleon and Vera Otis Hughes Edison. She is survived by her children, Vastine (Sharon) Stuart, Barry Stuart, Ellen (David) Garrett and Carlos (Tammy) Stuart; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other extended family and friends. 

Elizabeth was a strong-willed woman with the spirit of a warrior. She left her mark on all of those she encountered during her beautiful 95 years. She was a devoted Christian woman who believed in a hard day’s work. Her passing leaves a vast void in the hearts of those who loved her dearly. She will be deeply missed yet her legacy will live on through those she guided.
