A new business has opened in downtown Greenville, one that kids to adults can enjoy. RCM Gaming, owned by Georgiana local Marcus Rich, his wife Rhonda and his brother-in-law Chris Davidson, offers multiple virtual reality simulators, a retro-style arcade, pool tables, a basketball and skee-ball game and table games.
Davidson explained that the partners chose to open an arcade to offer children in the community a safe place for fun.
“There just isn’t a lot available in the community for kids and families to do in Greenville,” Davidson said. “I think that by providing a safe, family-oriented outlet for everyone would be a plus. You have the option to play various games all in one location while just enjoying the atmosphere of family and friends.”
The arcade opened Oct. 6 and operates on the weekends. The space is available for parties and groups with special event pricing Monday through Thursday as well. An all day game pass is $13 for the arcade games, the virtual reality games have their own pricing based on time increments and the pool tables are $5 per person or $12 per hour for groups of three or more.
Rich said the partners have plans and visions for other virtual reality games and simulators.
“We eventually want to get a game that’s like a simulated driver’s ED,” Rich said. “To help kids and teenagers learn how to drive and get involved with the schools.”
Rich added that they plan on having kids-only, teenagers-only and adults-only days and times in the future to make the space fun for everyone.
RCM gaming is open on Fridays from 2-10 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sundays from 2-6 p.m. The business is located downtown near the courthouse at 605 East Commerce Street.
