Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Christopher and Vonciel Pierce Williamson; sisters, Betty Williams, Glenda Griffin; brother, Charles Williamson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Moseley Williamson; sons, Steven Williamson, Joey (Maxi) Williamson; daughter, Sue Anne (Troy) Casey; grandchildren, Anzley Williamson, Ty Casey, Caroline Williamson, John Williamson, Cody Casey, Marley Williamson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Williamson attended Georgiana High School. He was employed at Union Camp and then retired after 32 years. He was a Deacon at East Chapman Baptist Church.

He was a fan of Alabama Crimson Tide and the late Dale Earnhardt.  He had a great love of music. He played the drums and the guitar, and he sang in many bands in the past years.  In the late sixties, he and the band he was in had two songs recorded, “Chevy Shut Down”, which is now on You Tube, and “Just Out of Luck”.

In years past, he enjoyed going on fishing trips on the Alabama River with his friends and getting together with “The Garage Boys” playing music. He enjoyed being outside working in his yard with his tractor and lawn mower.  He kept one of the best-looking yards in the neighborhood.  He also enjoyed riding on the golf cart with his wife and sitting in the breezeway listening to music.

Mr. Williamson was loved and will be missed by his family and friends, but we can all take comfort in knowing that he is now resting with his Lord and Savior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the East Chapman Baptist Church Music Fund, c/o Tracey Stinson, 87 Taft Skipper Road, Georgiana, 36033.
