“It’s so much fun performing at The Ritz,” said local performer Chad Edwards. “I am honored to play on the same stage as those who have come over the years.”

Edwards said he is usually in the audience or the sound booth volunteering, but he is excited to open for Johansson.

Arts Council volunteer director Nancy Idland, said, “It will be a casual, fun evening, with no reserved seating, and everyone’s invited.”

Showtime is at 7:00 p.m. There will be no admission for the concert, but donations will be accepted to support the Greenville Area Arts Council’s scholarship fund.

A silent auction will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. prior to the concert. Attendees can purchase gift baskets, home decor, handcrafted items, art, quilts, wood crafted items, baked goods, and even bid on a weekend getaway at Bent Creek Lodge Bed and Breakfast in Asheville, North Carolina.

Bent Creek Lodge offers guests relaxation, hiking, canoeing, and access to fine restaurants and shops.

According to Idland, “The proceeds from the silent auction will go toward the scholarship fund and all donations are tax deductible.” She said details pertaining to the scholarship and the application process will be presented at the concert, and the winner will be announced in October.

The Greenville Area Arts Council has been serving the community for over 40 years. The organization usually brings four shows to the Ritz theater each season.

“Season 41 will be announced soon,” Idland said.
