May 1 not only brings May Day to the Camellia City. It also heralds the arrival of the Greenville Area Fine Arts League’s Spring Art Show.
The event is scheduled Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Whitney Bank’s downtown location.
“We are looking forward to another good show,” said member Shirley Roberson.
“I’m still working on getting our artists and artisans lined up. We’ll have some old favorites and, hopefully, some new artists in the mix.”
Original paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylic, pencil and pen-and-ink drawings, prints, note cards, hand crafted jewelry and more will be on display and for sale at the event.
“An original work of art would make a great Mother’s Day gift, so we hope folks will keep that in mind and come and check out all these local talents,” Roberson said.
Weather permitting, the noted camellia artist plans to demonstrate his talents by painting “en pleine aire” on the sidewalk in front of Whitney the day of the event.
Refreshments will also be served. For more information, contact Shirley Roberson at 382-5227.
