The Ritz Theater in downtown Greenville is ready to rock-n-roll again this year.
The theater kicks off its 40th season Thursday with a party in front of the theater beginning at 5:45 p.m.
“This party is for the whole community to come out and enjoy themselves,” said Nancy Idland , director of the Greenville Area Arts Council. “Everyone is welcome.”
Following the festivities, the doors open at 7:30 for an experience of a lifetime with The Black Jacket Symphony.
“Over the past 13 years, the Black Jacket Symphony has performed over 40 classic rock albums, bringing an incredible night of entertainment to over a million music lovers across the U.S.,” according to information provided via press release.
The symphony has covered such bands as: AC/DC, The Beatles, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, and Prince.
The hand-picked musicians change with the performance, depending on which album the band is performing.
“This is a great group,” Idland said. “The theme for this concert is ‘An Evening of Greatest Hits.’ They have an awesome light show and have performed here at the Ritz several times.”
Tickets for the concert are $30.
