A weekend robbery in McKenzie left the alleged suspect with little cash and another arrest.
Antonio Lavon Hall, 37, was apprehended July 30 at the Camellia Court Apartments, located at 1625 E. Commerce St. near the intersection of Alabama Highway 10 and U.S. Highway 31 in Greenville.
Hall was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, first-degree receiving stolen property and several other charges.
Butler County Sheriff Danny Bond said that the suspect was armed at the time of the incident.
Bond said earlier this week the gun had not been recovered. In a follow-up with the Sheriff on Tuesday, Bond said he believed the gun had been recovered, but he was out of the office and could not verify.
According to Bond, the suspect walked into the store armed with a handgun and demanded money before fleeing the area.
“There was money taken, but it was a very small amount,” Bond said. “It wasn’t worth the trouble.
A customer’s dash cam recorded the suspect’s vehicle as it was leaving the store. A picture was obtained from the footage, and investigators discovered the car used in the robbery was stolen out of Evergreen.
Hall was previously arrested in Butler County on April 20 for breaking and entering into a vehicle.
