Tigers deal with delays, long break

Like the other teams in the county, the McKenzie Tigers have been trying to find ways to deal with the rain.
“We haven’t played in a while, and we haven’t been able to practice much either,” said head coach Mike Bass. “We had been playing better before the long break.”
McKenzie did manage to squeeze in a game against Paxton in Florida last week, which the Tigers lost.
“Paxton is a really, really good team,” Bass said. “They go deep into the playoffs nearly every year. We played well for three innings against them.”
One positive for the Tigers is the possibility of the return of Dustin Moorhead, who has been out this season with an ankle injury.
“We might get him back on a limited basis,” Bass said.
The Tigers had a game scheduled against Red Level on Thursday, but it was cancelled.
That game will not be rescheduled.
The Georgiana Panthers traveled to McKenzie yesterday to face the Tigers, but results of that game were unavailable at press time.
