The Butler County Commission presented appropriation checks to multiple members of the community during its January 11 meeting.
Tracy Salter with the Chamber of Commerce was the only recipient to attend the meeting in person.
Salter received a check for $5,250.
The other recipients of the appropriation checks were Lisa Lowe with the Three Arts Club and Isaac Ward with South Butler Rescue and the Butler County Volunteer Firemen Association.
The Firemen Association received their check during their January 25 meeting.
Butler County Engineer Dennis McCall reported on the 2021 County Rebuild Alabama Annual report.
The total number of funds expended were $837,518.17. Improvements included a Peavy Road bridge replacement and improvements for Wolf Creek Road, Creampot Road, Manningham Road, Honoraville Road, Halso Mill Road, Mashville Road, and Kolb City Road.
Additional road improvements were made to Ashmore Road, Spring Creek Road, and Wesley Chapel Road.
The commission approved a new mileage rate of 58.50 cents per mile before adjourning.
