Alabama Farmers Federation hold leadership elections

A leadership election took place at the Alabama Farmers Federation annual meeting on Monday.
Nearly 500 voters participated to elect officers and directors.
Officers and directors serve on the Alfa Insurance Board of Directors. Directors severe three year terms and officers serving two year terms.
Jake Harper stayed the Southwest Area vice-presidency following the election. This marks Harper’s tenth term as Southwest vice president.
The Southwest area Harper serves canvasses Baldwin, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Escambia, Hale, Lowndes, Marengo, Mobile, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Sumter, Washington and Wilcox counties.
The mission of the farmers’ federation is to “protect and improve the ability of farmers engaged in production agriculture to provide a reliable supply of food through responsible stewardship of Alabama’s resources.”
