The area surrounding downtown Greenville lost power today around 10 a.m. Stop lights were out down Commerce Street. Greenville Police Department was posted at main intersections to warn drivers.
The power had to be turned off due to a single vehicle that crashed into a power pole near First United Methodist Church. “It appears to be a vehicle malfunction that caused the lady’s car to veer off to the right,” Chief Justin Lovvorn, Greenville Police Department, said.
The power was out for approximately one and a half hours.
