LBW’s Greenville campus now offers Industrial Electronics option. The campus first began offering the course in the fall.

The program in Opp, Alabama has been very successful and Lurleen B Wallace Community College hopes to have the same successes at the Greenville campus.

“There is more demand than there are employees,” Holly Nichols, DRA WORC grant project director, said about Opp’s Industrial Electronic program. “Greenville, being such a big area for business and industry, really want and need these type of employees.”

Students will learn about electrical systems including, PLCs, motor controls, and construction wiring. Electronics and electronic equipment are everywhere in today’s world. Businesses need trained workers that can install, repair, maintain, and upgrade the equipment.

Fall enrollment is open now. Industrial workers are in such high demand. The state of Alabama recognized the need to have more industrial electronic trained personnel that it provided a grant to fund the training. The program teaches students technical skills that make them employable all over the world.

Duel enrollment is available, beginning in 10^th grade, high school students can start training for a new career while still attending their core classes.
