City Council back at City Hall

With the last meeting at City Hall, everything is back to normal for the Greenville City Council.
Meetings were previously at Beeland Park.
During the meeting, the council approved an ordinance granting a non-exclusive cable and communication franchise to Camellia Communications.
This would allow them to construct, install, operate, maintain, repair, and dismantle a communications system for the purpose of transmission and distribution of cable services, and other communications services, to the inhabitants of the city.
In other business the council:
- Approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to renew a contract with Lamar Advertising for the purpose of maintaining use of an advertising billboard on Interstate 65 to use as an incentive when landing new businesses in the city or to advertise local events
- Approved a resolution authorizing the city to enter into a 20-year lease agreement with Compass Signs. The agreements for the replacement of a digital and vinyl billboard on YMCA property owned by Greenville on Interstate 65
