Mr. Kenneth Wayne Carroll Sr, 67, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center South. A graveside service for Mr. Carroll was held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 14th, in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Brother Robert Owen II officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Carroll had a huge heart that was open to everyone. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it, unconditionally. He absolutely loved spending as much of his free time outside as possible. He had taken to raising farm animals, and he was especially fond of his pet goat, Earl. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and deep sea fishing. Above all, he adored his family. He was incredibly proud of all of them and his home was always open to them. His children and grandchildren relied on him tremendously, knowing his was only ever a phone call away. They will all miss him terribly, but they are grateful for each and every day that they had together.
Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his father, James Washington “J.W.” Carroll, and sister, Rebecca Shepherd. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Gail Davis Carroll; their six children, Bill (Tama) Carroll, Shannon (Robert Bowen) Carroll, Kenneth Wayne (Jessica) Carroll Jr, Brian (Alvin Laws) Carroll, Adam (Mandy) Carroll, and Jennifer (Jonathan) Daniel; seventeen grandchildren, Erica (Jason), Ryan, Abby, Christina, Amber, Julie, Susan, AshLynn, BryLee, Georgia, Nathan, Colton, Tanner, Dalton, Caroline, Elijah, and Luke; great-granddaughter, Adelynn Claire; his mother, Katherine Morrison Pettus; two siblings, Mert (Huey) Brightwell & Kathy (Robert) Owen; and several nieces & nephews.
