Crenshaw County 4-H is giving back to the community, peanut butter and Jelly to be exact.
February is the month of love after all. Crenshaw county 4-H is asking you to help them spread the love by donating any size, brand and flavor peanut butter and jelly. These two staples are the most requested items by food banks.
Pastor Darin Easter at the Luverne United Methodist Church said the need for pantry items has significantly increased over the last year during to the pandemic.
According to the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) Alabama has the second highest feed hardship rate in the nation.
Food items donated will be distributed to local food banks, local senior centers, and children of the community who are in need.
Boxes were delivered Wednesday to business for donation collection. All donations will be picked up by the extension office and distributed through them said Kristen Sanders, Alabama 4-H administrative assistant.
Donations can be left at the following drop off locations:
Crenshaw County 4-H Office, Luverne courthouse
Luverne Public Library
Crenshaw County EMA
First Citizens Bank, Luverne or Highland Home
Old Gin Creek, Brantley
4 Byrds Building & Industrial Supplies, Brantley
Brantley High School
Luverne High School
